Ayla Fung is a multidisciplinary artist working in photography, installation, and film. Her practice explores memory, trace, and interpersonal relationships, often grounded in conceptual strategies. Photobooks play a central role in her work, with self-published titles including Teh-Teh, Dirty Laundry, in my pocket, and hopscotch. Her recent exhibitions include group shows at the University of Oregon such as Follow Instructions and Opera at the Washburn Gallery, When We’re Awake at the Adell McMillan Gallery, and True Cost at the Global Scholars Hall.
She is currently an Executive Photo Editor for Align Magazine and is interested in fashion editorial based image-making. Alongside this, she has a strong passion for fine art film photography, drawn to its materiality and the intentional, process-driven nature of working with analog images.
Ayla is a San Fransisco Bay Area artist but is currently based in Eugene, Oregon, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Art History at the University of Oregon. She will graduate in Spring 2026. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue expanding her photographic practice while exploring opportunities within the fashion and publication industry.
